NEW! BE A PART OF THE PRESBYTERY COMMUNION SUNDAY CLERGY EXCHANGE
The Presbytery of New Brunswick's first Presbytery Communion Sunday Clergy Exchange is slated for Sunday, October 13. Sponsored by the Presbytery Council's Communications and Connections Team, Presbytery Communion Sunday is designed to extend to the Presbytery of New Brunswick the sense of Christian unity that will be celebrated around the world on World Communion Sunday, which will be Sunday, October 6.
For Presbytery Communion Sunday, congregations are invited to host a visiting Presbytery of New Brunswick parish clergyperson to preach and/or a visiting Presbytery of New Brunswick specialized clergyperson to give a minute for mission about one of the many ministries undertaken within the presbytery. Parish clergy are invited to preach in another Presbytery of New Brunswick church, while specialized clergy are invited to travel to a Presbytery of New Brunswick congregation to share more about their own various ministries.
The Communications and Connections will help facilitate the exchange by matching interested host congregations with interested parish and specialized clergy. Hopefully, Presbytery Communion Sunday will help the congregations and clergy of the presbytery build new and stronger relationships that will help the whole presbytery cultivate a more unified witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ in Central New Jersey.
Will you be a part? Clergy can click here and congregations can click here by August 1 to sign up. Matches will be made by August 15.
Want more information? Please email the Communications and Connections Team at presbyterycommunion@gmail.com.
(No honoraria for visiting clergy are expected: the program anticipates that all clergy participating in Presbytery Communion Sunday will be compensated as they usually are for their pastoral services, with mileage to their host congregations being paid by the organization that normally reimburses for mileage to presbytery-related events.)
A memorial service for Rev. Carolyn Nicholson, Dean of Students Emeriti at Princeton Theological Seminary and long time member of New Brunswick Presbytery who passed away this past April 8, 2013, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26 at Nassau Presbyterian Church with a reception following the service.

BAYARD STREET COMMUNITY FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM
22A Joyce Kilmer Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901

A lot is going on at Bayard Street Presbyterian Church – There are five other congregations sharing their space to spread the good News of Jesus Christ. They are blessed to be able to feed about 150 people in the New Brunswick community every month! This started with the Holy Spirit speaking to Bayard Street Presbyterian Church Pastor, Rev. Bodnar saying they should fulfill the need of hungry families and individuals in New Brunswick. That was two years ago with about 30 people attending, well fast-forward to 2013 and they have about 150 people attending the last Saturday of the month BAYARD STREET COMMUNITY FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM. Those volunteering for this feel it is truly is a blessing to be able to provide this service to the community under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church but bittersweet as it seems the demand for food and assistance grows every month. About 15 volunteers work passionately everyday of every month to help those in the community.
Bayard Street Church is looking for donations of food and gently used clothing from our brother and sister Churches in the New Brunswick Presbytery?

**** The vision for the Bethany House of Hospitality (BHOH) Community Garden became a reality through partnerships between the Urban Mission Cabinet Inc., The Crisis Ministry, and Isles. In addition, volunteer efforts from urban and suburban congregations, businesses, and a number of supporting organizations played a central role in the success of this garden project.
